Tonight sees the second round of auditions in this series of Britain’s Got Talent, with Simon and the gang coming together to judge the hopefuls. It’s been an eventful series already, with Ant McPartlin’s emotional return and extremely high ratings, alongside a creepy magic act that got viewers on the edge of their seats.
It’s also about to get pretty damn hilarious, with stand-up comedian Kojo Anim taking to the stage tonight with a brilliant routine about something we can all relate to; trips to the bank. Comedy has been a winning formula in the past, with Lost Voice Guy winning the show last year, and stars such as Daliso Chaponda and child comic Jack Carroll being born from the show.
Kojo certainly makes a splash with his observational humour, and you may have actually heard of him before. Let’s take a look.
The 42-year-old was born in Ghana in 1977, but moved to London as a child As well as being a comedian, the multi-talented performer also has worked as a filmmaker, actor, screenwriter, and is CEO of his own company called The Colour Network. His work has been pretty wide-ranging so far, appearing on CBBC shows alongside Reggie Yates and presenting on Capital Xtra, as well as hosting a podcast called Nothing To Declare.
Kojo undoubtedly has friends in high places too, given that he’s performed alongside Chris Rock, toured with Dave Chapelle, and opened for Kevin Hart at Wembley (just a normal day, right?). Kevin Hart was so impressed that he revealed he would be helping to produce a comedy special for him alongside two other British comics.
At the time, Kojo responded by tweeting: ‘Me and this guy go all the way back to 2007 and he has been the best thing to happen to comedy. This announcement just took everything to another level. I salute you.’ Tonight, Kojo will be joined on the show by his fiance Tiffany Jade and their baby son Roman Kingsley.
