Highlife musician, Kofi Kinaata has hit hard at record labels in Ghana as he reveals there are no more serious record labels in the country.
He revealed this in an interview on Monday.
Accord to the “Susuka” hitmaker, the country cannot boast about any powerful record label that helps propel Ghanaian talents.
The musician believes the uphill battle that hit Zylofon Media has left made the promotion of talents a problem in the country.
“Zylofon Media was doing well until things started going bad and we have not had any record label to propel our musicians to the next level” he said.
“A good music video, promotion for a song and getting all the deals to perform at an event all depends on a serious record label, but they are virtually non-existent in Ghana” he added.
Kofi Kinaata himself who was signed to HighGrade Family, the label of Samini and he said the record label owned by the highlife legend gave him the benefits he needed as an artist.
“I moved to High Grade Family because my contract was not bad and I benefited a lot from there. The influence of Samini alone was enough”.
“At High Grade, we had different people handling different things, but there is no way I will sign on with an artiste does not have any plan” the Takoradi hitmaker said.
