It appears there is more than meets the eye when it comes to issues concerning former members of Ruff N Smooth music group.
While Bullet has accused his former member, Ahkan of selling their ‘Shaba’ song to a movie company without his consent and also using one of their old songs without his knowledge, Ahkan seems to be spilling more secrets.
In an interview with Kwame Dadzie of Citi FM, the ‘Amina’ singer said three years after agreeing to let Ebony use their song ‘Hustle’, he is yet to receive any money for being a copyright owner.
According to Ahkan, Bullet promised to sort him out from the revenue they would generate from shows Ebony would play and royalties.

He said, three years down the line, he has not gotten a dime from his intellectual property.
“…I gave him the permission to use the song but he promised to pay me royalties that will come from the songs, shows, and sales but he has not done so,” he noted.
He also added that Bullet is fond of stirring controversy to topple his works any time he embarks on a new project.
This comes on the back of allegations by Bullet that a brother of Ahkan who used to be the group’s manager, had sold a song by the group, to a movie company without his knowledge.
According to Bullet, the brother of Ahkan, Theophilus Baah, once contacted him that a movie company needed their ‘Shaba’ song for a soundtrack.
He said they had not agreed on any terms, just to have seen a trailer of the movie out.
Meanwhile, Ahkan told Ghana Weekend that the group is still in talks with the person behind the movie to finalise financial deals and that Bullet won’t be left out as a beneficiary of the royalties.
Ruff ‘N’ Smooth until their split produced hit songs such as ‘Azingele’, ‘Beautiful’, ‘Swagger’, ‘Dance for Me’, among others.
