Ghanaian Afrobeats artist OliveTheBoy has shared his disappointment over not winning the New Artist of the Year award at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
But he is looking ahead with optimism. In an interview on Channel One TV‘s The Chat with Ekow Koomson on May 3, he admitted he had high hopes.
“I was really disappointed, I’m not going to lie, but I think it is what it is,” he said.
This year, he has received five TGMA nominations and is especially hopeful about winning Popular Song of the Year with his hit single *Asylum*.
He is also nominated for Best Collaboration of the Year for *Favorite Story*, a track that features King Promise and Sarkodie.
As the awards ceremony approaches, the artist remains focused on his performances and the recognition his music might bring in 2025.
