The President, Nana Akufo-Addo has paid tribute to the late poet Professor Atukwei Okai and other statesmen who passed away last year.
Delivering the third State of the Nation address on Thursday, he made special mention of these departed statesmen who contributed in diverse ways to the building of the nation.
He paid tribute to Professor Atukwei Okai, JH Mensah, VCRARC Crabbe, former vice President Amissah Arthur and KB Asante, who passed away in 2018.
Professor Atukwei Okai was a celebrated Ghanaian poet, cultural activist and academic.
He was also a former President of the Ghana Writers Association and was General-Secretary of the Pan-African Writers’ Association.
