Award-winning Cameroonian bassist, Richard Bona, who is in Ghana ahead of the 2019 Stanbic Jazz Festival, scheduled to take place from February 28 to March 2, says he is ready for a collaboration with Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy.

“Wherever Stonebwoy is someone should tell him Richard Bona is in Ghana and ready to do collaboration with him. I listen to Ghanaian music and they have such amazing talents,” he told Showbiz at a press launch of the Jazz Festival at the Labadi Beach Hotel on Monday, February 25.

Apart from Stonebwoy, Richard Bona said he is ready to collaborate with any Ghanaian artiste who is good.

This is Mr Bona’s second time at the Stanbic Jazz Festival and he said he had come with more energy this time.

“It is going to be more music, more dance and fun throughout. Ghana is my second home and I love to perform here always. I am going all out on the day and I will perform all the favourite songs the fans know me for,” he added.

Speaking at the press launch, Head of Marketing at Stanbic Bank, Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, said everything was in place for the fifth edition of the Stanbic Jazz Festival.

“The event is getting better with each edition and this year is going to be massive. We have the best people on board to make sure the event is a success,” he said.

Richard Bona, Salif Keita and UB40 are headlining this year’s Stanbic Jazz Festival which is themed: “Nostalgia.”

Ghanaian artistes billed to perform on the night are Akablay, Blue Rhythm, Jazz Accra, Knii Lante, Steve Bedi, Checheku, Owureku, Francis Osei and Ssue.
