Idris Elba has tied the knot with Sabrina Dhowre in a three-day ceremony in Morocco.
In absolutely breathtaking images captured by British Vogue, the genetically gifted couple, who got engaged last year, looked smitten as they exchanged vows at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh, where rooms are priced up to £1,800 per night, on Friday.
The bride chose a custom A-line gown by Vera Wang, which features an off-the-shoulder silhouette and a beautiful billowing veil.
Unfortunately us mere mortals can’t shop Sabrina’s exact wedding dress (it was made especially for her!) but you can click (right) to peruse Vera Wang’s collection of wedding dresses.
Forget the venue, flowers and photographer. Your dress is one of the biggest decisions you’ve got to make when planning a wedding so it’s got to be right! We love the flattering figure-skimming shape of this design, and the bardot neckline adds a touch of bohemian to this dress; fitting for the sunny location!
In another, Idris cuts an incredibly dapper figure in his slick suit with Asprey’s black and white diamond cufflinks as he’s seen gazing adoringly at Sabrina.
A further beautiful snap shows the pair just after they exchange their vows, as they passionately embrace while the former beauty queen flashes her dazzling ring.
‘Congratulations to newlyweds #IdrisElba and #SabrinaDhowre who exchanged vows in Morocco on April 26 2019. Celebrations were spread over three days in Marrakech. See more in the world exclusive in the July 2019 issue of #BritishVogue,’ the snap is captioned.
Gorgeous: Sabrina opted for two exquisite dresses by Vera Wang for her big day – a bardot style A-line gown for the ceremony (pictured) and a pearl embroidered number for the reception.
With a ‘colours of the Souk’ themed dinner on Thursday night, and their extravagant nuptials on Friday, the three-day celebrations are set to continue on Saturday with an all-white party at the Mandarin Oriental.
In March, Sabrina took to her Instagram with fun-filled snaps from her wild Utah bachelorette bash.
The beauty and nine of her close pals headed to the five star Amangiri hotel for a raucous weekend of fine dining, horse riding and boozing.
In February last year, Idris was seen getting down on bended knee to pop the question to Sabrina ahead of a screening of his film Yardie at Rio cinema, Dalston.
The Luther star, who claimed marriage was off the cards just six months before the proposal due to his two divorces, couldn’t contain his joy for the special moment as his emotional other half said ‘yes’.
Idris met Sabrina in her home country of Canada in 2017, and became acquainted on the set of the drama film The Mountain Between Us.
Previously the Thor: Ragnarok actor was married to Hanne Norgaard, with whom he shares daughter Isan, 17.
He was then married to Sonya Nicole Hamlin, whom he divorced just four months later. Idris also shares a five-year-old son with ex Naiyana Garth.
Following his two failed marriages, Idris told ESSENCE magazine in July 2017: ‘Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don’t think so. Yeah, I don’t think so. Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I’ve done it. It’s not for everybody. It’s not my life’s calling.’
Speaking about the early days of their relationship, Idris told People Magazine: ‘Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special.’
They walked the red carpet together for the first time at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival for the screening of the film Molly’s Game which Idris starred in.
