Talented Gospel Musician, Abena Ruthy has assured stakeholders in the music industry she would lift the image of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) when elected as the 2nd Vice President in the upcoming National Elections.

Speaking to Adom FM’s Jerry Justice on ‘Ofie Kwanso’ on Friday, she said her observation shows music practitioners are not benefiting enough and stressed she would bring onboard ideas that would help practitioners and MUSIGA as a whole.

“Sitting on the sidelines I have observed, Music practitioners are not benefiting from the Union. I will ensure practitioners are well equipped to be able to fend for themselves,” she said.

According to her, the structural challenges facing musicians in the country is what has pushed her to run for the position to seek for the betterment of music practitioners.

MUSIGA’s National Election comes off on June 26 this year. The election would be held in all regional capitals in the country.

Abena Ruthy is an entrepreneur and currently the President for Women in Gospel. She is contesting with Deborah Freeman for the 2nd Vice President position.

She has worked hard to lift the image of women in gospel music, and she believes with her experience she can help promote the image of MUSIGA.

The talented musician further called on all stakeholders to vote for her massively come June 26.

Born Ruth Benny Wood, Abena Ruthy undoubtedly came into the music scene in 2013 with an album ‘My Thought’ and in 2016 ‘Higher Praise’ which made her stand tall in the music industry.

Under the umbrella of Media Excel management, Abena Ruthy has ‘Waye Ade3’ as her latest single in the year 2019.

The song released months ago has gained momentum and is currently making some massive improvement on the airways.
