Receivers of the the Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards have been named.
Information reaching ghanaweekend.com has it that two gospel giants Prof. Kofi Abraham and Mary Ghansah have been chosen for the honour, together with veteran highlife artiste J.A. Adofo.
Not long ago, there was agitation among some gospel music lovers and entertainment pundits that no gospel musician had won the Lifetime Achievement Award before.
Names like Elder Mireku, Kofi Abraham, Mary Ghansah and Daughters of Glorious Jesus came up.
The inclusion of gospel acts for this year’s Lifetime Achievement honour means that the Board of the VGMA may have taken the incessant complaints by the gospel fraternity in good faith.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards comes off on May 18, 2019 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
