There was a brawl between Stonebwoy and his fans and Shatta Wale and his fans Sunday morning on the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards stage. Shatta Wale and his fans stormed the stage while Stonebwoy was receiving his award as the Reggae/Dancehall artiste of the year.
This prompted producers of the annual awards show to break the live transmission while calm was restored in the auditorium.
The live feed was restored later with a livid Stonebwoy telling the audience that his biggest opponent had been encouraged over the years to misbehave, which trend would result in deaths and war.
“Ghana sɛ mo ahu nkwasiasem a, yɛ foa foa so? Akoa no pɛ sɛ owuo ne ntokwa na ɛba”, to wit “Ghana, have you seen the impunity you have encouraged? That guy (referring to Shatta Wale) will bring deaths and war,” he said.
The broadcast had to go on break again when he started his speech.
Stonebwoy pulled out a gun to signal his opponents that he was ready for war.
A video of the event has since been circulating on Twitter.
