Ghanaian Rock Band, Dark Suburb has revealed that their masks prevented them from accessing the Presidency of Ghana last year.
In a yet to be aired interview with Becky on E WITH BECKS show on Joy Prime, the group said they were supposed to have visited the Presidency last year after performing at the All African Music Awards (AFRIMA) but they were prevented because of the masks they put on.
They said they were told that they posed a security threat to the presidency.
“The Ministry of Creative Arts and the government representative said Dark Suburb’s mask was a security issue.”
They added that the incendent “caused a lot of panic in the band”.
He also wondered if the same treatment would be given to Daft Punk if they came to Ghana with their masks on.
Dark Suburb is made up of six masked musicians (guitarist, pianist, drummers, singer and a poet).
