Multi-award-winning reggae-dancehall artiste, Samini has described a stereotypical comment made by the Head Pastor of Glorious Wave International Church, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, as unfortunate.

In one of his sermons which went viral on social media, the Prophet talked about the true nature of women from the Asante, Fante and Ewe tribes when it comes to marriage.

He said in his sermon that any man that marries an Asante invites problems for themselves because Asante women are greedy and troublesome. He described Fante women as foolish and Ewe women as ‘doormats.’

Samini who spoke in an interview on SVTV Africa chided Badu Kobi, saying he is not in the best position to tell who one should get married to.

“That’s his opinion and freedom of speech now has become easy because of social media. But excuse me to say, it’s an unfortunate statement, he didn’t speak well. Because it’s not his place to show which tribe one should marry from and which tribe one should not marry from,” he said.

“How does he read the bible and where is he leading us to? If something comes up in your mind, he should at least discuss it with his immediate people, so that, he would be thought some sense” he added.

The statement by the Prophet has generated a lot of conversation of social media, with most people asking that he apologises.

Meanwhile, Prophet Kobi, during anther sermon has called his critics unwise and has said he would stand by his words because they are the bitter truth.
