Ghanaian musician, Wendy Shay, who seems to be in the news now and then for releasing new songs and for the bad reasons sometimes says she’s surprised at how well she has improved and the success stories she’s had.
Speaking to Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM, she said she sits back to listen to her songs, and she gets surprised at the performances. She added that she does not even count the hits that she has been dropping.
According to her, she can’t call herself the biggest female artiste at the moment but is working hard at her craft.
“Actually, we’re all surprised because when I sit back and I listen to the songs, I’m like damn I did that too? Yeah true, oh yeah, I remember this song. Yeah, you know because almost every two months I’m dropping a new hit and it’s like I’m not even counting so I get surprised too,” she said.
Wendy said that she is passionate about women’s empowerment and is her own competition so she doesn’t have an issue with Fantana.
“I think she’s (Fantana) very talented and when she sent me her song, I heard her voice and I was like, damn girl you got some voice and to be honest I stand for women empowerment and I thought bringing another woman on board would make Ruff Town one of the biggest. It’s already the biggest record label, but I thought bringing another woman onboard is gonna raise the banner higher. I knew she was gonna make it so I just had to help a sister out,” she said.
”I also write. I write myself so most of the time I think I write and then I show it to Bullet and he goes through and then he adds his own so I mean Fanti (Fantana) is new and probably she will need more attention so I’m not bothered about that. Bullet is the boss and he knows what he’s doing and we’re all cool with it”, she added.
