Mr Music Man, Kojo Antwi has disclosed why he put young musicians on his songs.
In an interview with Hitz FM, he said his decision to put young acts on his songs is borne out of the fact that he needs a bit of young vibe to spice up his music.
“People saw a picture of me, King Promise, Mr Eazi and they thought they came to me. I went to them. They saw me and everybody was shocked but I needed a bit of that young vibe. You have to go for it”, he said.
He, however, noted that he does not rush to put out songs or d collaborations with other artistes. He rather assesses the impact the song will have on future generations.
“Right now it’s not about what you’ll get it’s about what you’re giving out to the next generation and the generation after you. That’s what I look at”, he said.
“I want my granddaughter to come and listen to my songs and say granddad you did very well. There are words that I wouldn’t use, There are songs that I wouldn’t sing”, he added.
Touching on the issue of doing music business as far as this digital age is concerned, Kojo said it is necessary and that there are advantages and disadvantages to it.
“We are a bit slow in getting on that but I have been using this digital platforms and I understand that it’s here to stay, it’s not going away and there are the advantages and disadvantages but once you have to ride on the waves, don’t get under the wave”, he said .
“Because Right now you can control your music. You reach out to the consumer, your fans direct. They judge the song. You don’t have some dj saying the song is not good. The fan must decide whether the song is good or not and then they can go as far as giving their comments”, he added.
