Fast-rising artiste, Fameye has said that his findings show Africans interpret confidence as arrogance.
Speaking to Ghana Weekend TV in an interview, he said people call him arrogant for a reason.
Although he stated he cannot say for sure that he is a humble person, he did not agree with being tagged arrogant.
He explained the name tag, “A few months ago, any time I do interviews, all the comments you see are ‘this guy is humble, this guy is cool, this guy is a nice person’. It took only the kind of stories that came out for people to start saying that I’m arrogant so I don’t know which is which”, he said.
“I can’t say I am humble or not”, he continued.
He said the arrogant tag is only on social media and that the reception from people when they see eyeball to eyeball is warm
“People say (that he is arrogant) but when they see me, they say I’m cool”, he added.
In conclusion, he said according to his personal research, Africans see confidence to be arrogance.
“Africa when you’re confident, they see you to be arrogant. That’s my personal research”.
He also advised that when you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation, you should speak up or you’ll die.
