Quite a number of celebrities and readers have had issues with bloggers especially celebrity bloggers for using misleading headlines and creating sensationalism every now and then.
Celebrity blogger, Ameyaw Debrah speaking on the issue on Citi TV’s Hall of Fame with AJ Sarpong said there’s nothing wrong with sensationalism embedded in blogs.
He said sometimes the headlines are not misleading but could be the blogger’s interpretation especially if the one quoted left the statement open.
“I’m capturing the story in such a way that you’ll be attracted to go and read. So far as it is not false and so far as the content in itself is not false and even if it’s sensational, just for you to go and click and get the full picture, I think there’s nothing wrong with it”, he said
“Because the message in itself is what it is- if you said somebody is an idiot, I’m quoting you are saying somebody is an idiot and that’s what the story is going to be about”, he continued.
“I fight back and I give up. My thing is to read. If you read and you don’t like what you see on the website, come and complain. I’d take that in better faith than you just following what everybody else is saying”, he added.
He, however, said his website is the best in entertainment as compared to the other sites.
“To be honest, Ameyaw Debrah. Com is the best we have in terms of entertainment. It’s the best we have actually when I go around and see the things that people write and how they write it so anytime I get this backlash from people who know what my vision is and they take single event and blow it out of proportion to represent what the brand really is it offends me and that’s why sometimes I come back to fight people”, he stated.
“The vision I have is not what everybody else has and even the way they’re doing it and it doesn’t take a magician to figure it out”, he concluded.
