A Kumasi-based radio disc jockey, DJ Slim, seems to have thrown salvos at the CEO of Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB), Bola Ray for his recent revelation on how his workers left him in the midst of financial crisis.
Bola Ray, during a presentation at this year’s International Youth Empowerment Summit (iYes) at the National Theatre in Accra, said even though most of the workers left, there were others he described as the ‘core people’ have still been with the company.
“In the month of August 2018, I had a lot of people walking away because it was difficult….. someone came to me and said: “My wife is insulting me because I have not been able to take money home for some months now.’ It got to a point that anybody who walks into my office, I ask: ‘Are you resigning,” he had said.
“Out of 483 workers we started EIB with, we still have some great people out there making about 300 who are still with us and across the nation,” he stated, amidst cheers from the audience.
DJ Slim who seemed not enthused about Bola Ray’s statement, took to twitter to make allusions to him.
In our of his tweets, he wrote: Nobody will work for free let’s just accept that and stop rubbing “LOYALTY” in the faces of people who once killed themselves for your agenda. – LOYALTY is a term used by the rich to cheat the poor – DJ SLIM 2019.

In other post, he said: “This harsh economy, as much as I want to be loyal to you, I also have a family to take care of, finding another job in times Of struggles doesn’t mean I’m not loyal, not being loyal is staying with you in the office and not performing. Nobody will work for free.”

He also added: The salary bracket of the CEO and the employees are nowhere close, You are a CEO and you take risks that’s why you are rewarded with estate houses, 4 wheel drives, different levels of incentives and all, as an employee with a family struggling to put food on the table in.
Although he didn’t mention Bola Ray’s name, some have suggested his post is directed at him.
