In July this year, Ghanaian comedian and actor, Funny Face made posts and shared videos with captions that suggested he was assaulted by a police officer while on set shooting his new series,’KasoaTrotro’.
Speaking to Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM today he narrated the whole scenario.
He said the police officer did not harass him because of permit but rather because his fans were displaying their joy at seeing him.
“Before God and man, the man didn’t come for permit. He came because he said people were making noise. He asked why they were giving me fans,”
According to him, the officer made some comments that some people in the crowd heard before he started harassing Funny Face.
“He was shouting at my director when I got there so when I got there I said ‘officer I beg I beg, afi see you small’ then he replied: shut up, go back! Who are you? Foolish boy. useless boy. Who are you?”
“And this is someone I haven’t said anything to. I was only going to plead with him, so while he was still shouting, I was pleading with him and the crowd got thicker at the time”
“So while we were at it, the people were asking why he was doing that to me so then I told my director to pack the things so that we leave but when the issue came, enemies said, ‘make them ask the boy say eget permit?’ Who said he came because of permit?, he quizzed.
“A boy heard him say he was going to disgrace me so he asked ‘you said you were going to disgrace him and you really did”
“While I was crossing the streets to leave, he followed me, held my clothe and slammed me against the car. He was basically doing something so I beat him. He was provoking me to beat him so I told him I won’t beat him but if he wants me to beat him, he should take off his uniform, I’ll slap him. He should just take off the uniform, I’ll beat him solid”.
Funny Face by real name, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng is known for featuring in comic series including ‘Cow and Chicken’, ‘Chorkor Trotro.’
