Over the weekend, Rainbow Radio’s mid-morning show host, Sokoo Hemaa Kukua was in the news for a statement she jokingly made.
She had said while emceeing the birthday party of gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy that Ghanaian men who drive KIA Picanto should not approach her.
This was interpreted by a section of the media that she was warning men to stay away from her, particularly if they drive such cars.
Surprisingly, a certain media house described her name “SOKOO” as what she is living up to. “Sokoohemaa of Rainbow radio has indeed lived up to her name, “ɛmmaa pɛ sokoo” (women love luxury)”
However, she has stated that she said it in jest and did not mean to ward off men from approaching her.
“I made that statement jokingly, which I don’t mean it. Maybe some people got me wrong on what exactly I meant”.
