Fast-rising star, Kofi Mole in an interview on the Delay Show has revealed the inspiration behind his hit song, “Don’t Be Late”.
He said, life became tough for him after their shop in Kantamanto got burnt and he could not afford to buy his girlfriend the latest phone and goodies other friends got from their boyfriends.
“I was into business to sustain myself in school and then our shop got burnt. Life became tough and I couldn’t provide for her the things she wanted and her friends were getting things- phones and other things which I couldn’t get for her so she said she couldn’t anymore”
“But I was still into her. One day, I was there when someone sent me a beat and I was in a mood (I was missing her) so I channelled all the mood onto the beat”
Although he did not agree to mention her name at first, he Afia (her name) lives in Dansoman and that she is the only lady he has fallen so in love with.
He concluded by saying this time the tables have turned and she is rather missing him more so she calls and checks up on him every now and then.
He still maintains he has never had sex.
