The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Creative Arts Council will hold a forum for the creative industry tomorrow, October 30, 2019.

The programme which encompasses all the domains of the creative sector will be held at the National Theatre in Accra.

Stakeholders of the various sub-fields will gather to share ideas on how to project the sector.

Themed ‘Reviving Ghana’s Creative Industry’, the meeting will empanel dignitaries such as the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Barbara Oteng Gyasi, Deputy Minister of Education, Barbara Ayisi and Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency, Bryan Acheampong.

The others are the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyemang, President of Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mante and the Board Chairman of the National Theatre, Nana Fredua Agyeman.

There shall also be an art exhibition at the foyer of the National Theatre.

This is the first time the Ministry is bringing together all its stakeholders and the media together to deliberate on how to revive the creative sector.

The stakeholders for the past years have complained about ramshackle systems and lack of the right policies to make the sector functional.

Some of the things they are looking forward to having addressed are the building of regional theatres, the introduction of better ways of collecting and distributing royalties, the Creative Arts Fund, Creative Arts Bill, among others.
