Nigerian film actress and singer, Shafy Bello who is also known as ‘timeless sex icon’ has said there is nothing wrong with being sexy.
She said this while answering questions about herself on BBC Pidgin’s ‘Question Till Mouth Pain You’.
She was asked if she’s sex icon and she replied “I claim it. It’s okay. As long as there’s a positive note for young girls coming up. There’s nothing wrong with being sexy. Every woman is sexy.”
She added that confidence is what does the trick and that if that makes her a ‘sexy’ icon , she’s all for it.
“You know the trick? It’s not how you look. It’s confidence. So for me, if the confidence as we defined is what makes a woman sexy, that means I am confident. I’m all for it. I accept it. Sexy icon”
The American-born Nigerian actress shot into the limelight after her collaboration with Seyi Sodimu for the 1997 hit love song ‘Love Me Jeje.’
She starred in Tinsel, Gbomo Gbomo Express and many others.
