Joey B in an exclusive interview with Ghanaweekend TV has said that he would put only 3 songs on an album if and when he decides to release one.
According to him, one of the albums which really stood out for a number of years since its release is the ‘Pae Mu Ka’.
He said he has had the urge to release albums but he is sceptical because Ghanaians do not appreciate albums.
“I’ve always had projects I like really wanted to drop but I’ve always said that I feel like Ghanaians don’t really appreciate albums,” he said.
“Maybe in the past five, six, seven years I don’t know which album really stood out apart from ‘Pae Mu Ka’ that time we were buying CDs but now the attention span is so short. Albums come and then they just fall off the shelves because people aren’t really paying attention. Because there are too many artists dropping projects,” he said.
“To be honest, if I’ll drop an album it’ll be only 3 tracks…yeah if I’ll drop an album, 2, 3 so that you’ll repeat it. You won’t skip anything. You’ll keep repeating and enjoy it because that’s what you guys are used to. So I’ll just pack singles and just do it an album,” he added.
He concluded by saying artistes are humans and Ghanaians are fond of breaking artistes’ hearts and that he is learning and moving strategically.
