I bet you didn’t know what food Dembe enjoyed while in Ghana.
American actor, Hisham Tawfiq, popularly known as Dembe Zuma for his character, Raymond Reddington’s loyal friend in the Blacklist series has named fufu as his favourite food while visiting Ghana.
Ghana Weekend team met the actor who was in Ghana for the Year of Return experience at Afrochella.
When he was asked if he has tried any Ghanaian dish and which has been his favourite so far, he disclosed that someone introduced him to fufu and he loved it.
“Food is great. So, I was eating and I didn’t know what fufu was so a guy told me about fufu and I was like okay I’ll try. I fell in love with it” he said.
Answering whether he has tried waakye or anything else aside from fufu he said
“for now fufu is my favourite”
“I’ll try it (wakkye) but I love the fufu. I love the plantains, I love it all merhn”
He did not come to play. Nothing light! Fufu for the win.
