The father of the late dance hall artiste Ebony, Nana Poku Kwarteng who was nicknamed, ‘Starboy Kwarteng’ after the death of his daughter, says he does not like the name but there’s nothing he can do about it.
“I would have wished they never gave me that but once it’s been established, I have no option,” he told Zion Felix on his Uncut show.
When he was asked who gave him the name, he replied, “I didn’t actually know the very person who gave me the name.”
He also used the opportunity to refute claims that he was all over the place granting interviews to gain fame after his daughter’s untimely death.
“How could that be? …If someone calls me to their studio concerning Nana Hemaa Ebony, I have no option than to go. No, I was so ‘God damn’ busy then but it seemed people needed clarification and as the father (Ebony’s father), it was only prudent to share with them what I know about the matter they need information on so, it wasn’t me going all over the place for interviews. No way. It wasn’t like that. Never at all” he stated.
