Songstress, Stephanie Benson has disclosed that she masturbates whenever she feels for sex and her husband is asleep or not around.
The 52-year-old mother described masturbation as a beautiful thing, asking why Ghanaians see it as a taboo.
According to her, masturbation is important and women should explore their bodies, adding that “I mean as a woman you need to know where your G-Spot is, you need to know how your insides feel. There’s nothing wrong with it. Feeling your body is natural. I mean touch yourself, it’s a beautiful thing. Don’t you like it when you touch yourself? I like it when I sort of touch my body…masturbating is not a big deal.”
“I think all of those things are really important for a woman to explore. It is our body. This is ours. Unless we know about it, how do we let someone understand what our bodies like, how it feels, how to touch it. Touching yourself is like everything, I think. It is really important to just explore”.
Stephenie usually teaches and answers questions concerning sex from her followers in videos she posts on her pages, Facebook and Instagram.
In one of these sessions, she said: “I mean, I still do it at my age. It is like when my ‘stupid’ husband is sleeping and I am horny, you know… (gestures) and then I sort of get to know my body. Sometimes, I am sure when I am not there – I travel a lot – and he is in the shower, he probably does it, too. I’d rather he did it in there than to put it in another woman”.
“Masturbation is a beautiful thing”, she said, wondering: “Why do we make it such a taboo?”
She urged that parents talk to their children about masturbation and all the topics they shy away from.
“…it is really important that we sit our children down and talk to them about sex. Now sex has to take so many different forms. We have to talk about masturbation…babies, infections, protection, we do have to talk about everything. We can’t just pick and choose what topic we want to speak to our children about. so, I think masturbation is one of those topics that every parent has to have with their children. They need to understand their bodies”
