WBO Africa Super Welterweight Champion, Patrick Allotey who assaulted a Kotoko fan during the Accra Hearts of Oak verse Kumasi Asante Kotoko match held last Sunday is currently in police custody.
Per reports, the boxer in the company of his manger and members of his team, turned himself in this morning, 31st January and has been transferred to the Accra regional police command for further investigations and prosecution.
Since the arrest, a picture of the boxing champion has been trending on social media.
“I, my team and some family members have further taken steps to reach out to ‘my brother’ Michael Siaw and his family and are deliberating on how to remedy the situation,” his apology statement as reported by citinewsroom
Patrick went viral in a video he could be seen punching the football fan after he provoked him in the Sports Stadium.
The fan in an interview with Kumasi based Oyerepa FM said he got to know of Allotey’s status after the video went viral.
“I didn’t even know he was a boxer, it was after the video went viral that I got to know,” Michael Siaw stated
