American rapper, Lil Wayne, has revealed that an ancestry test he took proved he is part Nigerian.
The ‘Milli’ singer in an interview on the Drink Champs mentioned this while discussing the lyrics of the ‘Milli’ song which was released in February 2008.
The interviewer, Victor Santiago, Jr., better known by his stage name N.O.R.E wanted to make sure what he really said in the rap line to which Lil Wayne confirmed he meant ‘hair’ and not ‘yeah’.
So the lyrics go: “I’m a Millionaire. I’m a Young Money Millionaire, tougher than Nigerian hair”
The rapper, Lil Wayne born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. then said he took an ancestry test adding that ” my shi came back like 53 per cent Nigerian. Yeah, me and my mama need to have a talk”
DJ EFN also host on the show, then asked him if he has ever been to Nigeria and encouraged him to do so.
To this, the rapper replied “I gotta be there”.
This comes just weeks after the songwriter hinted at the possibility of a visit to Nigeria.
“I have never been to Nigeria and that is the place where I’d love to go to, I have never been to Egypt,” he said while playing Never Have I Ever on American Eagle.
