Juliet Ibrahim has added her voice to actors who do not agree with Elikem Kumordzi.
Elikem took to Instagram to advise actors to get a day job and stop complaining about not being paid.
He said this after Kofi Adjorlolo said in an interview that seven producers owe him and that they do not pay the young ones too and to this, Elikem said, “There’s all this plenty talk on the internet about how producers in Ghana don’t pay actors. For me, it’s actually a good thing for me that producers were not paying me. I agree a hundred per cent that producers in Ghana don’t pay. Some of them do, some of them don’t, some of them will pay you shi* wage, literally”.
“…you can’t wanna do entertainment and not have a day job, especially in the beginning”.
Under the video post on Instagram, Juliet replied that Kofi Adjorlolo like anybody else in distress has the right to complain.
She talked about how she has not received royalties for all the years she has been an actress adding that “Our movie industry is dead today thanks to everyone who contributed to making a mockery of it and allowing producers get away with all of these acts. Lord help us all”.
She also urged that actors stop mocking colleagues so that the industry will be taken seriously.

This is an industry where even ROYALTIES we don’t make! And you find a funny and ok to make jokes about oh chale u fall my hand kraa. I have acted over 50 gh movies I have never received a dime on royalty. Uncle Kofi has other sources of income but as an actor he has every right like everyone of us to complain if as an actor he’s being treated unfairly! Our movie industry is dead today thanks to everyone who contributed to making mockery of it and allowing producers get away with all of these acts. Lord help us all.
So you’re saying an actor should stop acting if that’s the only job an actor knows best???! What if u were asked to stop tailoring and find another day job how would you feel my brother ? Acting is full time job that pays people’s bills all over the world. An actor shouldn’t have to find another job if the proper structures are in place in his country movie industry. Unfortunately that’s not the case in Ghana. Hence your advise should be ; actors please find other jobs to do while acting because producers don’t value the worth of actors in Ghana yet; so till then actors should have other means and sources of income. God help us all in this industry. But until a producer owes u money you well deserve; u won’t be here saying this at all. Til date some Gh producers haven’t paid people’s balance or Full acting fee or crew members fees and it’s not a joking matter! Let’s stop mocking our own and get serious so that we the actors and industry can also be taken serious. #shalom
