The music scene once in a while is usually spiced with artistes going up against each other and stirring controversies to give bloggers stories to write, score radio and television interviews and also to promote new songs or projects.
One outstanding beef between music camps in Ghana over the past few years has been Shatta and Stonebwoy. The SM and Bhim fans have been at each other’s throat for quite some time now.
Although some people believe the two artistes plan these beefs, they shocked everyone when it almost got bloody at last year’s VGMAs where Stonebwoy pulled a gun when Shatta Wale and his fans joined him on stage.
After the case was sent to court, the two were banned from the award scheme.
The two camps then came together and publicly resolved their differences.
At Golden Tulip Hotel when Stonebwoy met the press, he was asked about the controversy and reminded as well that bloggers are no more cashing in on that aspect since he and Shatta Wale are not throwing insults at each other.
Speaking to the matter, the ‘Bawasaaba’ singer said he misses the controversy sometimes.
“I enjoy the heat sometimes anyway. There was no force under which we had to succumb to unite or to show unity,” he said.
“Shatta and I have history, one that only close people who are privileged get to know about but in the media light over a number of years our feud is real. People know the extent to which it went and I think that what happened at VGMAs to climax the height of it actually took us to the world.”
He said he and Shatta are now good adding that “but we’re not bestfriends.”
In the meantime, he said the media should enjoy what the industry is now but quickly added that the public know how to get them back to fighting each other.
“You guys are used to the beef. Get used to the chicken. You guys know how to incite us just touch the right buttons,” he stated.
