Rapper turned pastor, Evangelist Lord Kenya, has revealed that he was inspired by the late American rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur to get into music.
According to him, Tupac had great depth in his lyrics, one typical of Shakespeare and that really motivated him to get into music.
“Tupac was my role model. He was a literature rapper. That is why he is still relevant,” he said.
In an exclusive interview on Hammer Time on Pure FM, he also noted that it got to a time he needed to change his style because he realised Kontihene was copying his style.
Lord Kenya, in the early 2000s, was one of the top artistes and rappers for that matter.
In 2010, he announced that he was leaving secular music to enter into the gospel ministry.
He released the ‘Testimony’ album after that but had since been focused on his work as an evangelist.
