Politics is very dirty, I don’t know if I can do that – Yvonne Nelson

Actress Yvonne Nelson for some time now has expressed interest in politics and expressed she would want to be Ghana’s president in the future.

She is known for speaking her mind about issues that bother her especially on twitter but to take it off social media and make it a reality is something which is not so clear to her yet even after making it known she wants to be president.

Although she successfully got the nation to back her in staging ‘Dumsor’ vigil in 2015, she does not have a clear picture of what to do especially because she might have to be an independent candidate.

Speaking to Jessica on Citi FM’s Traffic Avenue, she was asked why she really wants to do politics and she replied, “I don’t even know if I really want to do it but I know I want to do it.”

The vigil she led was done during the term of the NDC party, forcing people to conclude she is an NPP member. She, however, makes it clear she does not agree with any of the parties; also explained the situation is confusing to her because she does not want to lie in bed with any party especially the two big parties.

“Politics is very dirty. Politicians lie. What they do is like tell lies and win elections and keep fooling the people. I don’t know if I can do that.”

“I know I really want to help society. I know I want to be that change and help people and impact society in a positive way but then you need to align with one of these guys. That’s where it gets confusing because we’ve all heard the promises from both parties and we know what’s happening on the ground so that’s where the confusion is” she stated.
