Actress and movie producer, Yvonne Nelson recently threatened to expose producers who do not pay actors.
This comes at the back of Kofi Adjorlolo’s claim that seven producers owe him and that it is a norm in the movie industry.
Among the actors who came out to confirm the claim is Yvonne Nelson who had a piece of evidence to back her claim in an interview with Jessica on Traffic Avenue.
Although she refused to name the producer and the written on the cheque, the ‘Heels And Sneakers’ director and actress said she was paid in 2016 for a role she played in a movie but the cheque bounced at the bank.
She further explained that a colleague experienced the same situation with the same producer.
However, she noted that she did not pursue it because she felt the amount she was paid was not befitting for who she is – “it’s been in my purse since 2016… because I knew that I’ll go somewhere and I’ll need to show someone” she said
When Kofi Adjorlolo’s video went viral, Elikem Kumordzie shared a video to his Instagram to advise that actors get a day job and stop complaining about producers not paying.
Touching on this, she said “what Kofi said, that is the truth. That is our reality. That is the industry so I just did not understand why Elikem would disrespect Kofi in that manner…Kofi is a legend. Like I can lie down for Kofi to walk on me…It’s that bad. Our industry they don’t pay.”
