Media person, Vanessa Gyan has added her voice to the growing argument about Food and Drugs Authority’s ban on celebrity alcohol advertisments.
According to her, she is yet to hear an individual in Ghana who had to show an identification card before being served alcohol as is done in other parts of the world.
She suggested that the FDA should make strict rules against minors acquiring alcoholic beverages through purchasing.
She said this in response to rapper Edem’s tweet this morning: “If personalities have the ability to influence people to drink..Dont you also think they have the power to tell them to do it responsibly?”
“Exactly. And FDA/Gov should have strict rules in place when it comes to minors purchasing alcoholic beverages. I have yet to hear one person say they were asked to show ID when purchasing alcoholic beverages or entering spots that serve alcohol.” she replied.
