Charterhouse released the nominees’ list for the 21st edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards over the weekend and some songs that were expected in the nominations did not make it.
Explaining why the list appeared incomplete, the Head of Public Events, Charterhouse, Robert Klah said songs which featured Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were also affected by the ban on the two artistes.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz on Monday, March 2, Robert Klah noted that the decision to exclude such songs was necessary.
“Those songs cannot be considered because the artistes are ineligible,” he said.
Before the list was released, it was clear the two Dancehall acts were going to be excluded since VGMA has not announced the lift of the ban or a possible consideration but the unexpected is that other artistes will be affected because of them.
One of the big songs which according to the public deserved a nomination is Wendy Shay’s ‘Stevie Wonder’ which features Shatta Wale.
