Ghanaian rapper Ko-Jo Cue has addressed the issue of his album not getting a nomination in the 21st edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
After Charterhouse released the nominees’list over the weekend, it generated lots of talk amongst fans whose artistes and songs did not get recognition.
One of such works is Ko-Jo Cue’s album ‘For My Brothers’ which was not nominated in the Album Of The Year category.
The fans took to social media to register their displeasure about the board’s decision.
In reaction to the fans’ concerns, Ko-Jo Cue shared a video to his Instagram page in which he talks about the album attaining the goals he set for it.
He also showed appreciation for their support and concerns.
“Yes I submitted it, yes it would’ve been nice to have been nominated but I wasn’t nominated. That’s up to the board of VGMA. You have to understand they have like a million submissions to comb through and they are humans.
Sometimes they’ll make mistakes, sometimes they genuinely haven’t heard the album and it informs their decision so that’s okay,” he said to the fans.
He is also happy that at least Worlasi was nominated which he described as “we’re getting somewhere”
“I’m just happy at least Worlasi had like one nomination in The Record Of The Year. We’re getting somewhere,” he noted
