Over forty (40) artists are girding up to display their artworks at the maiden edition of Citi FM and Citi TV’s Heritage Art Festival.

The event slated for March 12 to 14, 2020 will take place at the forecourt of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly office complex.

This festival, as part of the Heritage Month celebration, serves as a platform to enjoy and celebrate artistic impressions from Ghanaian artists as they showcase their work telling the Ghanaian story through art.

About forty (40) visual and fine artists will be exhibiting their works at the event.

On Thursday, March 12, 2020, there shall be a symposium on the theme ‘Art and Identities’ at the Citi Hall of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly. The time is 1pm.

Also part of the activities for the festival, there shall also be art installations, live portraits, art exhibition and the painting of “Accra’s Biggest Canvas.”

The art festival will be crowned off with an event that will allow willing patrons to explore the taste of Ghana for a day. On March 14, 2020, Citi FM and Citi TV will treat taste buds to delicious food from across Ghana with the ‘Back to Your Village Bazaar’.

This was announced at a press launch at the Headquarters of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

Other activities for Heritage Month celebration

Every weekday morning in March, Citi FM’s Breakfast Show will host personalities adept in the history of Ghana.

It is a great opportunity to learn Ghanaian historical facts, heritage and traditions with the on-air series, he said.

Already, the Heritage Caravan has toured 12 out of the 16 regions in Ghana, in seven days. The Heritage Caravan took off on March 1 and returned to Accra on March 7, 2020.

Music is not left out in this celebration. On March 21, Citi TV will serve music lovers with great authentic Ga music in an event dubbed the Accra Music Expo 2020.

The climax of the whole celebration will be on March 28, 2020, at the Accra International Conference Centre with the Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) concert.

This year’s concert promises to be more refreshing as it parades a number of Ghana’s finest musicians whose songs evoke nostalgic moments of the Ghanaian music journey.

Heritage Month 2020 is powered by Citi FM, Citi TV, with support from the Accra Metropolitan Assembly and the Ghana Tourism Authority.
