Media person, Bridget Otoo has called on the telecommunication service providers in Ghana to review their data packages to help customers in this usual times.
The President on March 15 2020 read out some directives in his address to the nation stating a ban on public activities including schools, funerals, weddings, services in the church and mosques.
As a result of this, schools and churches have adopted online studies for which some of the telcos have provided special packages.
Online learning has become free on some of these networks aside from that however, other customers are yet to be catered for.
Bridget Otoo in a tweet asked: “are there any special packages for customers in this very difficult time when data usage has shot up, while prices remain same? If not could you review to make it easy on consumers?”

In the meantime, AirtelTigo has responded to her tweet saying they have a special package to help everyone in these times especially because churches have moved online .
“We appreciate you reaching out. AirtelTigo has announced a huge discount in the form of more data for less money, as many churches and organizations have started holding meetings online, meaning people will be consuming more data than normal,” their response.
As of yesterday, Ghana has recorded a total of 24 cases of covid-19 and one death.
