Ghanaian artiste Joey B, has described former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice ‘Obour’ Osei Kuffour as a very good person.
This comes a few days after two Ghanaian acts: Criss Waddle and D-Blakk tweeted that he is a waste of time and should not be given the nod to serve as Member of Parliament in the Asante Akyem Constituency.
According to D-Black, Obour, while President of MUSIGA did not manage affair well while Criss Waddle simply thought he was a leader who served his selfish interests.
In spite of all the flak, a lot of Ghanaian musicians have also expressed their fondness of the ‘Konkontiba’ hit maker and have spoken highly of his achievements while President for MUSIGA.
In a video sighted by ghanaweekend.com, Joey B is heard giving Obour plaudits for his good human relations and sterling achievement for MUSIGA.
“Mr Bice is a very good person. I’ve worked with him over the years and he’s helped me in so many ways,” he said.
“He took me to my first tour in China, he helped me get my first car ever, also he’s connected me with very prominent people in the industry, to mention a few,” Joey added.
According to Joey B, Obour is a very focused personality and needs support in his new bid to serve as Member of Parliament at Asante Akyem South constituency.
Obour, during his tenure as President of MUSIGA, introduced the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund, loans schemes for its members, the MUSIGA Academy, and spearheaded the research into how much the music industry contributes to the economy.
In his constituency, he set up a scholarship scheme named after his mum, to support needy but brilliant students in his constituency.
The Christiana Addo Memorial Foundation, since its establishment about three years ago has offered scholarships to students to tertiary institutions.
Obour is contesting for Member of Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party in the Asante Akyem constituency.
