Social media has been buzzing with the hashtag, #LockDownNow especially after cases of coronavirus continues to rise in Ghana.
Citizens are asking the government to declare a lockdown to prevent a further spread of the pandemic which has already killed two amongst the recorded cases in Ghana.
Adding her voice to the trend, Lydia Forson has said although it is necessary to contain the disease by putting a directive to keep people indoors, the repercussions will be dire.
However, she added that the situation is leaving the country no option.
Taking to twitter she said : “The thing about a lock down is so many people who’re less privileged will suffer. For many people getting something to eat even daily is a struggle. And our system doesn’t necessarily protect the poor. So even though it’s necessary it also comes at a great cost”.
“We don’t have the luxury of a total #lockdown but it’s also becoming necessary.
We’re between a rock and a hard place,” she added.

Here’s the ugly truth and why many of us have been so vocal about #COVID19
Our country can’t AFFORD for this to get out of hand; even countries with the most healthcare are struggling.
What we CAN do is do everything in our power to prevent it from spreading.
