Ghanaian actress, Efia Odo is not happy about the court’s decision to dismiss the injunction seeking to stop the National Identification Authority (NIA) from continuing with its registration in the Eastern Region.

The President in a recent address to the nation put a ban on public gatherings including services in the churches and mosques, funerals, schools and all other gatherings that could cause the spread of the coronavirus.

However, the NIA continues to register people in the Eastern Region for Ghana card despite talks and legal actions to put an end to it.

At the Accra High Court on Friday March 27 2020,  Justice Anthony Oppong dismissed the injunction explaining that the president’s directive did not stop operations of businesses but rather asked operators to observe certain protocols including social distancing.

According to the court, the NIA’s decision to go ahead with the registration is not against the President’s directive suspending all public gatherings adding that the function of NIA as an agency of government never compromised in observing the protocols put in place – citinewsroom reports.

Expressing her displeasure in a tweet, the actress questioned if Ghana card is more important than the health of the citizens.

“NIA should stop this damn card registration wt*” she fumed.

“How can humans be this careless” she added.
