Politician and actor, John Dumelo has donated some food items to people in the Ayawaso constituency to help them survive during the partial lockdown.
The president, Addo Dunkwa Akufo-Addo instituted a partial lockdown of some parts of the country for a period of 14 days to prevent the spread of the coronavirus which has already killed five people.
The the lockdown which started at 1am Monday March 30 2020 will affect Accra, Tema and Kumasi.
Already barriers are mounted to prevent movements and people are advised to stay at home and only come out to get necessary needs.
A joint force of the police, army and navy are in charge of the lockdown.
As at this morning, new cases have not been recorded but two recoveries have been made while two others are awaiting discharge.
Ahead of the lockdown however, John Dumelo made donations of food items including bags of rice, water, oil , Gari, bread , tomato paste, soap and eggs from his farm.
According to him, about 260 persons benefited from this donation adding that he hopes “widow’s will mite sustain them during the lockdown.”
He shared pictures from the donation to his Twitter page.
