Following veteran musician Zapp Mallet’s displeasure about being lumped up with ‘latter-day’ music producers for #BehindTheHitz battle, Appietus has reacted.
The battle initiated by rapper Sarkodie was to let music producers present the number of hit songs they have produced in their career.
In a tweet, Appietus alluded to Zapp Mallet’s earlier tweet, stressing that there was nothing wrong to have producers of different generations mixed up for such an activity which is merely for fun purposes.
“@sarkodie has not disrespected anybody, as music producers n sound engineers our works re always compared by the public n award schemes! If u’ve ever won an award it means u were compared to someone and u won, if u don’t like been compared then return all ur awards #BehindDaHitz,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, Zapp Mallet has said that he would not have been bothered if he saw veterans like Sami Helwani and Jon K in the list.
This contest started after Sarkodie mentioned Zapp Mallet, Jay Q, MOG beats and others to take part.
Zapp Mallet was not happy because he thought the people in the list were not his co-equals.
So far, Appietus and Jay Q have taken part in the battle. Richie and Killbeatz are next.
