Actress Lydia Forson has opined that all health workers should be made to benefit from the government’s 50 percent salary incentive and 3 moths tax waver it comes with.
The president, Addo Dunkwa Akufo-Addo in his recent address to the nation on the state of the nation as far as dealing with the coronavirus mentioned that frontline health workers will not have to pay from April to June while a 50 percent of salary will also be allocated to them.
However, the government will in the coming days clearly define who qualifies to be called a frontline worker to be able to enjoy the incentive.
“Effort is being made on the part of the government, to arrive at an acceptable definition, and I think your input will be very necessary and required, so that we get a definition that makes sense for everybody and which addresses the issue of people who are also in the frontline, as it were, of dealing with this disease,” President said.
Taking to Twitter, Lydia said “frontline workers are all health workers who’re putting their lives at risk during this period. Each of them matters.Doctors, nurses, lab techs, hospital cleaners etc. I honestly believe all of them should benefit from the additional 50% of their salary and insurance.”
