Media personality Oheneyere Gifty Anti has called on the government to stop pampering Ghanians and enforce strict measures in order to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gifty Anti was one of the 1030 citizens who were put under mandatory quarantine on their arrival from coronavirus hit countries when the borders were closed to all kinds of travels as a measure to curb the spread of the virus.
Referring to her travel, she mentioned Uk recorded about 16 deaths at the time but in just a space of one month, the death toll is over 10,000 hence ” I am compelled to join those calling for total lockdown.”
In her Facebook post dated April 12, she said “I think you are over pampering us, Mr. President. We will be the same people to blame and accuse you if this virus claims more lives. Please, Something has to change and immediately too”
Currently, Ghana’s covid-19 confirmed cases is at 566, 8 deaths, 17 recoveries. Yesterday, the ministry of communication launched a mobile application to track covid-19 cases and people who test positive. The initial two weeks partial lockdown pronounced on Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi has been extended by one week, effective April 13.
