Popular dancing pallbearers say they will charge double price of their normal price for someone who dies after contracting the coronavirus.
The Prampam based pallbearers who are professionally called Nana Otafrija Pall-Bearing services have become social media sensations especially because their images and videos are memes to caution people to stay home or die as a result of contracting the coronavirus and “dancing with them”.
The group has been in operation quite a long time now and were interviewed by Aljazeera and BBC News but more popular now due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In an interview with Giovanni Caleb on TV3’s Showbiz 360 the leader of the group, Benjamin Aidoo, said the group does not mind if someone dies as a result of contracting the coronavirus but they will charge double the price.
The ‘Dancing Pallbearers’ or ‘Dada Awu’ as they are called on social media charge by the style either solemn or with display and by the attire they use for the funeral.
Benjamin also said they are charging in dollars now that they have become “more than celebrities.”
Speaking to Giovanni Caleb on TV3’s Showbiz 360, the leader explained they pray to God while at work but do not pray for people to die.
When Giovanni asked if they will give services to someone who dies from covid-19, he replied, “we’re gonna charge twice.”
