Rapper Sarkodie has endorsed the movement to get issues of royalties addressed as far as the Ghana Music Industry is concerned.
According to him, just like any other business venture, “an artiste can solely depend on music if structures are right” adding that” the entertainment industry is one of the lucrative businesses (top 10) worldwide when taken seriously.”
He said this in agreement to a series of tweets made by colleague rapper, Edem who registered his concerns about the poor nature of the industry which has resulted in the poor living conditions of predecessors.
Edem noted that “every artiste in Ghana is hungry” and that the situation needed to be addressed.
He called on other musicians to join in to get reforms.
Adding his voice, Sarkodie shared his opinion in a note he wrote on the phone and took a shot of accompanied with one of Edem’s tweets.
He said, “our legends shouldn’t have a hard time getting at least their day to day upkeep after giving us all these incredible bodies of work”
“I support any action towards a change in the industry,” he added.
