Musician turned rapper. Sista Afia has said she expected Freda Rhymz to call and inform her before recording her diss songs.
Although has done a couple of rap on some of her songs, this is the first time she has done pure rap and for that matter, diss songs.
It seems she had no prior knowledge of what she called for when she dropped the first diss song, WMT and decided to add a reply, ‘You Got Nerves’.
According to her, she was only playing around the beat and showing she is versatile and that she was not expecting a response especially to from Freda who is a “sister”.
The two met at the premises of TV3 and it almost resulted in the exchange of fists because Sista Afia felt ‘disrespected’.
Speaking to Nana Ama McBrown on Showbiz United, Saturday, May 23 2020, she said because she is friends with Freda Rhymz, she expected her to inform her before ‘dissing’ her.
Freda who was also on the show said she was only taking advantage of the system and to entertain her fans but Sista Afia replied it was wrong to have done that.
“At the end of the day, me and Freda we’re friends, we’re cool so if someone would do a song to entertain fans, at least it would be fine if you call me to say Afia, I’ll throw shots at you.”
“We’ve had drinks, we’ve sat down…It’s just nice to call and inform me because the ‘thing’, you had nothing involved in it. I didn’t mention your name but we’re sisters and I’d expect you to call and inform me,” she explained.
She also added that the first song Freda released, ‘KMT’ did not get under her skin like the second, ‘Point of Correction’.
She noted that directly mentioning her name and saying she had sexual affairs with some industry persons really got to her and that has informed her to carefully deal with “friends in the industry.”
