Reggae and Afrobeat artiste, Samini has disclosed that since the recording of Linda in 2004 till now he has not made royalties for it.
He has blamed the generations before him for not caring about protecting their intellectual properties which is now affecting all artistes.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, he however, noted that he was smart enough to register internationally and has been benefiting from that for this while.
“Those who came and left did not see the importance of having laws to back their creative art.
“I have come to realize that, that is why they’re suffering today and people like us have even suffered half way because from when I released Linda till today, from all the collaborations I did till today, Ghana hasn’t given me any royalties,” he said.
“But luckily for some of us in the industry we saw the vision and we registered with international collections society so for the past 12 years or so I’ve always seen some cheques,” he added.
