Nigerian reggae music legend Majekodunmi Fasheke popularly known as Majek Fashek has died at the age of 57, his manager Umenka Uzoma Day confirms.
A video shared to his Instagram page Tuesday, June 2, 2020, shows his manager saying he has had lots of calls and pressure to confirm whether or not the music icon has passed on.
He noted that other necessary information about the burial and funeral will be related in due time.
“Today been having pressure calls, well it is true that the African No 1 Legendary ICON has gone to be with the LORD his Maker. Let celebrate him, his achievements and his family, whatever decisions made by his immediate family will be notified,” manager Umenka Uzoma Day captioned the Instagram post.

Per reports, the ‘Send Down the Rain’ singer has been ill for a while no. Days ago, he shared a video on Instagram saying he was coming to save Nigeria from the COVID-19 and fans were pleased to see him looking well.
Majek started his career in the early 80s with the group Jastix, went solo and released his debut single Prisoner of Conscience in 1988.
